Marshelle from St. Louis, Missouri, has outlined a fundraising model for a comedy competition that can be done in multiple states and provide funds needed for organizations that are involved with assistance to those who are homeless or in transition.
The fundraising team needs a core leader (Marshelle ?) and several other leaders who are not only interested in this project, but who can let others know about potential grants and other funding available to the non-profits that make up the Community Collaborative super puzzle. Individuals or organizations that are involved in items for fundraisers are also welcome to be part of this team.
To join the team, answer the question below with your name, organization’s name (if applicable), email address, a good contact # and good days and times for you to attend a meeting.

Here is information from Marshelle on what she has created as a fundraising event that could bring in the funds to provide support for those who are homeless or in transition:
A proposal has been submitted to use 100,000 square feet of space inside the Convention Center in St. Louis, Missouri, for vendors and comedians to sell their merchandise during the festival finale days.
A proposal has been submitted to use the theater inside the Convention Center in St. Louis, Missouri, to have the final days of a comedy competition.
A proposal has been submitted to use the Dome stadium in St. Louis, Missouri, for the first Guinness World Record attempt.
Marshelle reached out to many comedy clubs and venues in St Louis to have the preliminary rounds of a $100,000 Cash and Prizes Comedy Competition. She found a college that is willing to allow the preliminaries to be held at their location. Dates have been locked in with a down payment to use the campus from June 15th – 21st, 2020.

SEMI FINAL ROUNDS
Marshelle has had several meetings with Explorer St. Louis over the past 3 years to get the term sheet after her RFP (Request For Proposal) was approved. This event includes a Guinness World Record that Marshelle started in 2014. She is looking for those who may have an interest in collaborating to be a part of Comedy History. All involved will be a part of 2 World Records and will receive funds to go towards their missions to support the homeless and those in transition. The amount received depends upon your involvement as an organizer or contestant. For more details, contact Marshelle at 314-243-6034.
Marshelle has done as much work as she can on her own to develop the kind of Comedy Festival that will be a win-win for all. Now it’s time to take it to the next level with the right people who see the opportunity of us collaborating. ALL OF THE COMEDY EVENTS AND FUTURE ENTERTAINMENT PROJECTS RELATED TO THESE EVENTS ARE DEVELOPED TO BE A WIN-WIN FOR ALL INVOLVED!!
I am personally interested in helping with setting up a sow here locally once we establish a duplicate le system or format. We will need an active team to put this together. With my schedule I can commit if we have a team working together. I can not commit to carrying the full load alone.
I did personally offer to be a judge since I have been a competition judge for last few years. I have flexibility and can do this in each state. Once established I can send bio and jpeg to each state coordinator.
CCHF also has few events written out which can be done as fundraisers so we can have one per quarter if interested. Let me know if you interested.
I may be able to lend some talents in a couple of places in fund-raising. I am willing to help Marshelle find strategic alliance partners in or near the St. Louis area that can help her identify local sponsors and vendors. I think it will be important to find people closer to her area than I am, and I believe I may be able to find some.
The piece I believe I can lead is to assemble and coordinate those who bring fund-raising through direct sales and/or network marketing. I would love to have Crystal help me with this. We could create an expo/flea market type of event to benefit the Collaborative. We could also create a “swap where you shop initiative” to encourage people to buy from the businesses involved in the Collaborative so that they can continue to survive and thrive while working on this project. Businesses could choose to contribute some percentage of their sales that come through the Collaborative to the projects being worked. I have done these types of events before and they could help us have some “working capital” while we identify potential sponsors, etc.
